Nuh-uh, we aren’t talking about the two mystical characters that rocked Hollywood in the 90s. We are talking about the two larger-than-life, well one larger-than-life and the other…not so much, characters that have been dominating Hollywood for quite some time now. Bringing Jumanji to theaters on the 13th of December we have the amazing duo Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson and Kevin Hart.
If one has been following Youtube, Reddit, Twitter or Instagram in the last couple of years, one would know that these two guys share an amazing camaraderie that is simply extended through the banter that keeps going on between them.
The first Jumanji was released in 1995 to widespread acclaim. Then we saw the 2017 sequel starring these same two stars. Again this year we have the next installment titled Jumanji- The Next Level. It would be released in theaters in December 2019. Considering the smash hits these two actors have been doling out one after the other, one can expect this to be pretty amazing too.
Jumanji, be it Robin Williams’ 1995 version, or the 2017 version talks of the same thing- a video game that transports the players to an alternate dimension or brings the alternate dimension right to their doorstep. In the 2017 remake, much hilarity ensued when a skinny actor turned out to be the Rock, while an American Footballer turned out to be Kevin Hart. The irony in the situation was that Rock’s character had almost no weakness whereas Kevin Hart’s character had only weaknesses. This movie also starred Karen Gillan, Jack Black, and Nick Jonas, and they are expected to reprise their roles in the 2019 sequel.
Be it Ellen, Jimmy Fallon or Jimmy Kimmel, these 2 actors never back down from messing with the other. One of the biggest points of contention between these two actors is the difference in their size. While Rock is a massive 6ft 5-inch guy, Kevin Hart is barely 5 ft 5. This makes for several hilarious interviews, caricatures, and potshots on Instagram wherein both try to put the other down. And fortunately, this is all done in good humor, with the audience enjoying the banter.
Recently, Kevin Hart uploaded a picture on his official Instagram, which could either be a photoshopped Kevin Hart or a face swap between Hart and Johnson. Either way, Hart literally dwarfed Johnson in this pic.
Oh, how the tables turned!
But, who knows, for this could simply be a promotion for Jumanji- The Next Level, where Kevin Hart’s character has a much bigger role than the Rock. Or maybe, Kevin finally had enough and decided to settle this, once and for all?
Jumanji- The Next Level, directed by Jack Kasdan and produced by The Rock, hits theaters on the 13th of December.
