Get Lost To Be Found

Cross-Eyed Husky Finally Finds New Home

A dog is a man’s best friend. However, there are numerous instances when a dog has been abandoned by their human family for frivolous reasons such as physical appearance! Jubilee’s tale is an instance of how shallow human beings can be. This cross-eyed husky was abandoned by her breeder as she apparently looked “weird”. Yes, you read that right!

The shelter in which the dog was staying wrote about her sad tale on social media and it went viral in no time. The post touched a lot of hearts as it was written from the Husky’s perspective. The plea for giving Jubilee a loving home was expressed in an adorable manner:

“Huskies are majestic looking dogs and I don’t know why I don’t look like them. I wish I was beautiful so someone would want me to be their dog.”

The post further elaborated on how Jubilee the cross-eyed Husky can be a wonderful pet. She loves her fellow dogs but isn’t very fond of the feline species. She is shy because humans often laugh at her. People burst into laughter when they see her and she directly addresses them in the post, “doesn’t anyone want a funny looking husky? I wish I had a family of my own who could love me even though I’m not pretty.”

The dog had an eyelid deformity and always looked surprised because of that. The efforts of Husky House were successful as Jubilee found someone who will love her for who she is. The shelter then updated the original post thanking everyone who had shared Jubilee’s story. Husky House sounded relieved as the dog did find a forever home.

How did this happen? A spokesperson from the shelter told CNN that the viral Facebook post flooded them with loads of love, support, and adoption inquiries. One of the users came forward to take Jubilee home and shower her with the affection she deserved.

Another heart-warming story popped up on social media just as news of the Husky’s adoption did the rounds. Dumpling, the Labrador, was abandoned when she was ten. The Labrador Rescue followed the same plan and put up an ad on Facebook. The post clearly stated that Dumpling was abandoned when she was “blind, overweight and alone”.

She did have a few puppies over the years and eventually, the owners got rid of her. In the loving care of the Labrador Rescue, the dog had lost over thirteen kilos and wished to go out on occasional walks. Someone saw the Facebook post and stepped up to take Dumpling home.

It is important to adopt dogs who have some special condition as they need double the care. Dogs are bundles of joy. Adopting one that needs your love and support will make sure you have the best furball friend. Extend a helping hand to abandoned dogs and hopefully someday, we will not have such cases at all.
