Behold The Might Of The Philippine Volcano Taal

The entire world has come into a great state of turmoil as the Philippines adds itself to the list of calamities befalling 2020. With the ongoing bushfire crisis in Australia, the entire Hemisphere has descended into a mad cacophony of hell on earth. The Taal volcano eruption in the Philippines has led to widespread fear and panic in the region.

The volcano is located quite close to the capital city of Manila which is heavily populated. A report estimates the distance to be 60 km from Manila, in Luzon Island. As the volcano erupted 14 km in the air, it struck terror into the hearts of locals who witnessed ash spewing from the volcano, while lava gushed out of the fiery tunnel.

Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology, responsible for monitoring national calamities in the Philippines, soon issued national warnings after increasing the alerts from a Level 2 to a Level 4 with a statutory notice that there could be another eruption in the next couple of days.

Erik Klemetti, an eminent volcanologist was seen mentioning that while Taal wasn’t the biggest or most frequent of volcanoes, it sure could be one of the deadliest owing to its close proximity to population.

United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs has asked for the evacuation of people in a 17 km radius which has a population of around 900,000. This means that most of the low lying suburbs of Manila would have to be evacuated for the time being.

Interestingly, while volcanoes are quite possibly one of the most horrific natural disasters, they still can be extremely magnificent to look at. Several photographers have taken pictures of the Taal volcano as it was roaring with a ferocity that was unseen before. Now, you can either enjoy the pictures of this amazing volcano or wonder what would happen if things were to go haywire. Here are a few pictures that show you the true strength of nature’s power.
